INCO: What motivated you to enroll in the Green Digital Skills Certificate program?


Aanuoluwaposimi Mary: I have been taking courses in digital skills, but none of them focused on sustainability.


I was curious to expand my knowledge and skills in this area, so I enrolled in the Green Digital Skills Certificate program to learn more about sustainable practices and how to apply them in my field.


INCO: Why do you think learning new green skills is important in the world of today?


Aanuoluwaposimi Mary: Learning new green skills is important today because we need sustainability to survive and thrive.


As the world faces climate change, environmental damage, and resource depletion, acquiring skills that promote eco-friendly practices and sustainable development is crucial. By learning green skills, we can reduce our carbon footprint, protect the environment, and create a better future for generations to come.


It's essential for individuals, organizations, and governments to prioritize sustainability and work together to address environmental challenges.


INCO: What skills have you learned as a part of the program?


Aanuoluwaposimi Mary: As part of the Green Digital Skills program, I have learned critical thinking skills that enable me to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to environmental challenges.


I have learned to approach problems from different angles, consider multiple perspectives, and come up with out-of-the-box ideas to address sustainability issues. This skill has helped me become a more effective problem-solver and has opened up new possibilities for me to make a positive impact on the environment.


INCO: What has surprised you most about this experience?


Aanuoluwaposimi Mary: What has surprised me most about this experience is the realization that sustainability can be applied to any field or industry. I was astonished by the depth and richness of the lectures, which revealed the many ways to protect and preserve the environment.


I was particularly struck by the practical strategies and solutions presented, which showed me that even small actions can make a significant difference in creating a more sustainable future. This newfound understanding has been truly eye-opening and has inspired me to incorporate sustainable practices into my daily life and future career.


INCO: How do you plan to use the skills you've learned from the course?


Aanuoluwaposimi Mary: I plan to apply the skills I have learned from the course in various ways.


Firstly, I aim to implement sustainable practices in my daily life by reducing waste and finding creative ways to turn waste into useful products. Additionally, I intend to utilize my critical thinking skills to identify environmental challenges and develop innovative solutions in any organization I join.


My goal is to contribute my quota to sustainable development and make a positive impact on the environment. I believe that these skills will enable me to make a meaningful difference in my community and beyond.


INCO: Is there any advice you want to share with our future learners about green digital skills and digital sustainability?


Aanuoluwaposimi Mary: To future learners, I would say:


  • Embrace the opportunity to learn green digital skills and digital sustainability with enthusiasm and dedication. These skills are not just valuable, but essential for creating a better future.

  • Don't just go through the motions - truly absorb and apply the knowledge. Be like a river, constantly flowing and adapting to new situations.
